So this is where it's a little different than Image Capture. You can see it puts it on the Desktop but also opens it up in Preview. The import button is going to ask me to select a location. So I can select a file here and I can hit the Import button. ![]() Then remove it from your iPhone so it's not part of your personal collection. You can use Preview here, or Image Capture, find that photo and get it off of your iPhone onto your work computer. Maybe you use your iPhone for personal use most of the time but you take a picture for work and you want to get that photo off of your iPhone. It could be really handy for grabbing a photo. So I'm going to basically see the photos that are stored on my iPhone which are going to look different than if I looked in the Photos app because there may be some there that are on my iPhone and some that are not.īasically it's a collection of recent photos and videos and some old ones as well. But using iCloud Photo Library means some photos are on my iPhone and some are not because I have optimized storage turned on. It's going to be pretty clear and simple. If you're not using iCloud Photo Library, if you've just got photos in your camera roll on your iPhone, then you're going to see those here. ![]() Now which photos appear here is kind of tricky. ![]() I could see all these photos and I can scroll left to right and see all this data about the different photos. So I'm going to select that and it's going to bring up this window that looks just like Image Capture. You can see it recognizes that and it even puts the name of the iPhone there in the import item. Here I've got my iPhone connected with the cable. So run the Preview app and then go to File and Import. But you can also do the same thing using Preview.
